Different type of lithium ion cells

Because of their high energy density and low self-discharge rate, lithium-ion cells have become widely used in portable electronics and electric vehicles. There are several types of lithium-ion cells used in various applications, each with its own set of characteristics and performance characteristics.

The cylindrical cell, which has a cylindrical shape similar to an AA battery, is a common type of lithium-ion cell. Because of their high energy density and long shelf life, these cells are widely used in portable electronics such as laptops, smartphones, and tablets.

The prismatic cell, which has a flat rectangular shape and is commonly used in electric vehicles and other high-power devices, is another type of lithium-ion cell.
